On Monday 10th December 2018, DRG exhibited at the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) Careers Fair at the Green Park Business Centre in Reading.
The Fair gave school students the opportunity to explore the range of careers available locally in the STEAM sector. During the event, they were able to attend workshops and to talk to many Berkshire businesses including Dell, Three, Pfizer, the Army, Oracle and DRG.
“As a local STEM champion, we felt it was very important to attend this Careers Fair and talk to pupils about the wealth of opportunities available to people with qualifications in science, technology, engineering or maths,” said Jacqui Williams, Senior Manager at DRG Chartered Accountants, pictured below. “At DRG, we recruit both school leavers and graduates from a range of academic backgrounds, whether they have studied STEM subjects or via other routes, and are always keen to meet ambitious students to discuss a career in accountancy.”
The day was organised by WOOP, Berkshire’s Worlds of Opportunity programme, which aims to inspire and educate people of all ages about the opportunities that exist across Berkshire for people with qualifications in science, technology, engineering or maths. In particular, WOOP’s focus is on the critical skills gaps that Berkshire faces in these fields.
