Autumn Budget Summary

Chancellor Philip Hammond delivered his first Autumn Budget on Wednesday 22nd November, against a backdrop of political and economic uncertainty fuelled by the ongoing Brexit negotiations and the downward revision of the UK growth figure by the Office of Budget Responsibility to 1.5% in 2017.  


Forward-looking Budget

From the media coverage, you could be forgiven for thinking that the only good thing that came out from the Budget was the abolishment of stamp duty for certain properties.  


Autumn Statement 2016 Summary

The new Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, acknowledged ‘sharp challenges ahead’ for the economy as he presented his first major fiscal statement, exactly five months after the UK’s historic vote to leave the European Union.
