Innovate UK is the UK’s innovation agency. It aims to improve the UK’s productivity and growth through the support of businesses by harnessing the potential of new technologies and make them a commercial success. Over the past 10 years Innovate UK has worked with over 8,000 businesses of all sizes on 11,000 projects providing £2.2 billion of funding. Innovate UK provides support in two key ways – funding and connecting businesses with the right partners, expertise and funders.
Innovate UK’s open programme of grants
Innovate UK has an open programme to provide grants to any innovative UK company working in any high-value innovative technology, business model or process in any area of the economy. Their funding is offered to companies that submit the best proposals in a competitive application process.
Connecting businesses with the right partners
The Knowledge Transfer Network, network partner of Innovate UK, aims to link innovative ideas with expertise, markets and finance via their network of businesses, universities, funders and investors. The Knowledge Transfer Network supports a broad range of industries, including design, digital and creative, innovation, ICT, industrial maths, the built environment, sustainability and the circular economy, manufacturing, biotechnology and health.

Briefing dates announced for £10m Open Innovation Loans competition
Innovate UK is to offer up to £10 million in loans to SMEs for innovative late stage R&D projects. Innovate UK and the Knowledge Transfer Network have announced the details of briefing events across the UK for the first of Innovate UK’s Open innovation loans competitions - which is now open for applications.
Break through innovation - London
Hear from SMEs who have used design early to solve innovation challenges and have developed successful new investment propositions. There will also be the opportunity to talk to experts on access to funding and finance, digital and the internet of things,manufacturing, health, the built environment and smart cities as well as the design and innovation process.
