Ernst & Young LLP has acquired UK-based Microsoft Gold Partner, Pythagoras, in a move to reinforce EY’s goal to increase the range of technology services it provides to clients. Pythagoras will bring to EY additional capabilities across a range of Microsoft Business Applications, such as Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Azure.
Founded in 1999, Pythagoras now has 3 UK offices, in Maidenhead, Solihull and London, employs over 130 people and has more than 140 clients, with a particular focus on the higher education, local government and financial services sectors.
Julian Stone (CEO) Pythagoras commented: “This is an exciting time for Pythagoras as we build on our achievements over the last 22 years. Our aim has always been to focus on providing high-standard technology services to our clients – and now, together with EY, we can continue to deliver this in a market that demands increased innovation.”
Over the past ten years, prior to this acquisition, Pythagoras worked with DRG Chartered Accountants. Over this time DRG supported the company with accounting, audit and advisory services to help its growth – this included two acquisitions, management buyouts, employee share option schemes, R&D tax credits and now the successful sale to EY.
“We are delighted to have worked with Pythagoras since 2009,” said Daniel Reid, Partner at DRG Chartered Accountants. “Pythagoras’ sale to EY presents a fantastic opportunity for the business to achieve its ambitious growth plans and to bring its key skills and capabilities to EY’s Technology and Consulting division.”
